The weather is colder. You don’t feel up to partying, you kinda just want to chill… pick up a book.  We’ve complied a list.

 

The Foodie’s Beer Book: The Art of Pairing and Cooking with Beer for Any Occasion.

Gastropub owners and Culinary Institute of America graduates Brooke and Luther Fedora explore the many ways beer can enhance a dish or entire meal.

This book includes a brief history of beer as well as recipes for dishes as well as home brewing. Luther Fedora was voted Best Chef in Charlottesville and Albemarle County, Virginia, by the Charlottesville Albemarle Convention and Visitors Bureau for 2014.

Tasting Whiskey

Lew Bryson is the managing editor of Whisky Advocate, where he is also a feature writer and columnist. He frequently presents tastings and lectures on whiskey and has written several books on craft beer.

A comprehensive manual for all levels of enthusiasts, Tasting Whiskey maps whiskey styles, profiling each of the major types of whiskey, discussing their differences, exploring how and where they are made, and describing their unique flavors. Bryson walks the reader through the process of tasting and teaches how to collect and age whiskey. He also includes cocktail recipes as well as suggestions for food pairings.
